Filter search result
You can filter the search results.
Perform a search. All items whose name contains the search term at the beginning are listed. A maximum of 1,000 search results can be displayed. If the search returns more than 1,000 search results, specify your search query more precisely using
Search options.
Click
Search options behind the search box. The Search options panel is displayed.
Enter the search term and select the relevant settings, for example Within text, to find your search term also if it is located within a text.
Select whether you are searching for Models or Objects and select a type to refine the search.
Under FILTER CRITERIA, click
Add filter. The Add filter bar opens and lists all properties that correspond to the selected search options and are allowed by the method filter used.Click the item you want to use for filtering the search result. The filter criterion is added to the search options and later displayed as a column in the search results. Depending on the attribute type, you have additional options to specify the search in more detail. See examples below.
Add more items as filter criteria if needed.
To remove filter criteria, click
Remove property behind the property name.
Click Find. The search is performed based on your settings.
Click Close.
The search results are displayed. Use Search results and
Repository to switch between the two areas.
To reset the search options, open the
Search options panel, then click Reset all filters.
To reuse the settings from the previous search, click the Search field. The recent searches are listed with their general search options below the Search field. Click the search you want to apply to the current search context.
Examples for refining or filtering a search result
Use the wildcards * and ? to refine your search term
Use * as a placeholder for any number of characters. Example: *manager finds all managers, like Audit manager, Control manager, Risk manager, etc.
Use ? as a placeholder for any single character. Example: Me?er finds Meyer and Meier.
Search for items related to specific users
Select the
Person responsible attribute from the Add property bar.
Select the is search option from the drop-down menu next to the attribute name.
Click
Select user next to the input field, then select the relevant user from the Find user bar.
Click Find. The search is performed based on your settings.
Search for locked items
Select that you are looking for Objects.
Select the
Lock status property from the Add property bar.
Select the is locked search option from the drop-down menu next to the attribute name.
Click Find. The search is performed based on your settings.
Search with OR
Relations
Select that you are looking for Objects of Function type.
Select the
Responsible relation property from the Add property bar.
Select the is search option from the drop-down menu next to the attribute name.
Select the Role symbol type.
Enter the first three characters of the role name, then select the relevant role name.
To add an OR-linked attribute value, click
Add relation behind the input field.Repeat steps 4 - 6.
Click Find. The search is performed based on your settings.
Values
Select that you are looking for Objects.
Select the
Status value property from the Add property bar.
Select the is search option from the drop-down menu next to the attribute name.
Select the status Released, Complete, and To be revised.
Click Find. The search is performed based on your settings.
