Adapt model variant
As a variant owner, you adapt the model variant.
Prerequisite
You have the Variant management privilege.
Click
Application launcher >
Models and objects.
Open the model variant. The model and the Master model roll-out panel is displayed.
Adapt the model variant and the models of the hierarchy to the regional conditions. An important modification, for example, is the translation of the language-dependent attributes, such as the names of the objects. This helps the region's users to understand and use the models.
Adapt the assigned models if available. For each model, the new or finished roll-out state is displayed. Click the names of the assigned models, to open and edit them.
After modifying the models, open the
Roll-out conflict resolution panel and click Finish. The roll-out of the model variant can only be finished if the roll-out of all assigned models is finished.Click
Refresh to update the status of the models and to check whether all models are finished. If not, open each assigned model and click Finish in the
Roll-out conflict resolution panel. The status new is displayed behind the name of a model if the processing has not been completed yet, the status finished if the processing has been completed.
New versions of the model variant and the assigned models are created. The basic settings for variant management are made. The master owner is informed by e-mail. All changes to the master model can now be rolled out consistently in all language regions.
Tip
ARIS provides translation support for language-dependent attributes via reports. You can export attribute values for manual translation or for machine translation. You can specify that the translations are written directly to the database or that an Excel file is generated first. After checking the translations, you can import the Excel file via a report.
Next step: Release the master model version no. 2
