Start Administration client

If you have Project room management privileges, you can start the Administration client to configure method contents and conventions, and create and manage reports and databases.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Download Administration client.

  2. Click Download. If your browser asks for confirmation, confirm the download. Depending on your browser, you can save the JAR file or click Open to start Administration client. If you have saved the JAR file, double-click it to start Administration client. The ARIS connection wizard is opened.

  3. Check whether the user data entered is correct.

  4. Click OK.

Administration client is started.

Administration client does not start

Starting the Administration client does not work.

Either there is no Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on the user's computer, or the file extension .JAR is NOT assigned to the JRE.

Solutions

  1. If no JRE is installed on the user’s computer, download and install it from https://java.com.

  2. Start the Windows Explorer and navigate to the %UserProfile%\downloads download folder, or to that folder where the ARIS downloader JAR file has been saved by the browser.

  3. Right click the ARIS downloader JAR file.

  4. Select Open with.

  5. Assign it with a locally installed Java™ Platform SE binary Oracle Corporation JAR file.

    If a file extension assignment for .JAR files is not feasible, the ARIS downloader can be started using the JRE on a command line.
