Import
You can import DMN diagrams, BPMN diagrams, and database content.
You can import data from a BPMN file to ARIS and use the BPMN diagram that was generated by the import in ARIS.
Select a group.
Click
Import > Import BPMN diagram. The dialog opens.Click Select files.
Select the BPMN file and click Open. The import checks whether a BPMN diagram with the same name already exists. You can choose whether the diagrams in ARIS should be overwritten.
Click Start import. After the import is completed, a dialog with messages is displayed.
Click OK.
The generated BPMN diagram is displayed. If multiple BPMN diagrams are generated, they are all opened.
You can import data from a DMN file to ARIS and use the DMN diagrams that are generated by the import in ARIS.
Click
Models and objects.
Select a group.
Click
Import > Import DMN file. The Select DMN file dialog opens.Select the DMN file and click Open. If the diagram has never been imported, the import starts immediately.
If you have already imported the same file before, the Select diagram to overwrite dialog opens, and you can decide if you want to overwrite it. Click Start import.
The Import DMN diagram dialog provides information about the result of the import.
Click OK.
You have imported a DMN diagram.
You can import XML files into your ARIS database. XML files exported from ARIS are encrypted. You can only import encrypted XML files.
Prerequisite
You have the function privilege Database export/import on database level.
You have the ARIS Admin - Enterprise public cloud license privilege.
Click
Application launcher >
Models and objects.
Click the group into which you want to import.
Select
Import > Import XML file. The dialog opens.Click
Select import file. A list of available files opens.
Select the relevant XML file to import and click Open.
Click Apply.
The content of the XML file is imported into your database. The XML import dialog displays the log messages of the import.
You can import ArchiMate® files into ARIS.
Click

Models and objects.
Navigate to the database and the group into which you want to import an ArchiMate® file.
Select
Import > Import ArchiMate file.Select a file to import and click Open.
Specify the Import strategy.
If you enable Update existing models and objects, specify a Conflict resolution option.
If you want to import the ArchiMate® organization viewpoints as ARIS groups, enable Import organizations as ARIS groups.
If you want to simulate the import, enable the Test mode.
Specify which Graphic options of the imported objects and connections and which font options you want to include in the import.
If you want the model templates specified in the template administration to be applied to the imported models, enable Apply template to new models.
Click Apply to start the import.
Activate the tab pages to view the imported items and click Close.
ArchiMate® data is now imported.
