Use governance workflows

The Process Governance package includes predefined governance workflows that are deployed automatically, and the executable processes are generated automatically. These workflows contain specific work steps to be processed by different people. The flow of the work steps is based on the information and the partially automated tasks provided by the content. Users with Admin role and Governance administrator privileges can manage the processes.

Person responsible

If, for example, a change request for a model is submitted, the request is sent via e-mail to the person responsible. The person responsible then opens the corresponding task in My tasks to assess whether the change should be made. The e-mail address of Person responsible must be unique, otherwise the governance process ignores the specified user responsible and randomly assigns the task to one of several users who have the same e-mail address. All users with the same e-mail address as the one specified for Person responsible receive the task notification with the link to the task, but the link only works for the randomly assigned user.

By default, the person responsible is specified in the Person responsible attribute of the relevant model. The Publishing administrator can use the Owner attribute in the publication settings of a database to individually specify the attribute to be used for the person responsible (Application launcher Application launcher > Administration > Databases > Publication settings). This allows you to specify a group as the person responsible instead of a single user. For detailed information, refer to Specify person responsible.

Initial checks

When a governance workflow is started, some checks are performed first to verify that all conditions are met for the governance workflow to run smoothly. If not all conditions are met, the user receives an error message with the required corrections.
